Love Yourself Enough…
I recently repeated a Myofascial Release seminar. It was the first seminar I had taken since John's passing this past winter. Whether you are a therapist who trained with him, or a patient treated by him (or both!), you may have heard a few "Johnisms." Some are deep, some are silly, but they are all clever.
John Barnes was quite the cat fan, so this is a fitting photo!
There are so many of them, and I think I’ll have to write more posts incorporating them. But for now, here is one we can all live by. It is one that was repeated over and over again: "Love yourself enough to treat yourself with myofascial release 5 minutes a day."
I tell my clients that self-care, myofascial treatment, doesn't need to be a full-day event. 5 minutes at bedtime can undo a day's worth of holding — in your neck, your shoulders, your jaw. It can help reset your nervous system. Kick the pebble and start self-treatment today. Myofascial release doesn't stop when you get off the table and exit the treatment room...
Five minutes. That's all it takes to start feeling better in your body.
